I Want to Live, The POWER We Have. This is the title of a book I wrote that inspired the creation of this site. This is about a POWER, and, yes, YOU have it. Do you believe it? Are you aware of it? Then read on and learn something about this POWER that you may or may not be aware of. There is so much you can learn and experience here. We all know the life can change in an instant and, as a result, can lead to uncertain feelings and emotions. You don’t need to go it alone. I want you to be able to feel this power and have hope.

Orange glow of a sunset

“The sky takes on shades of orange during sunrise and sunset, the colour that gives you hope that the sun will set only to rise again.”
Ram Charan

You Already Have The Power

The human body is an amazing creation. It is composed of millions of cells, millions of pathways, complex functions, and much more. Yet, as much as is known about this creation, there is still so much more that we don’t know or understand. I have heard it said that we only use 10% of the power of our brain. Most noteworthy is there is one thing that is not understood at all. There is a “power” within us beyond science and explanations, hence, we need to believe in it.

I Want To Live, The Power We Have

What is this POWER? Power is been defined as “the ability or capacity to do something…“. We have “powers” within us that we are probably unaware of. As a result, these powers can reflect or react on what we desire. Hence, we need to find a way to harness it. If you remember the movie “The Wizard of Oz“, Dorothy kept wishing to go home, to Kansas. In the last scenes of the movie she missed her chance to be in the hot air balloon as it drifted off. Glinda, the good witch, shows up and says:

Engage/Harness this Power

I want you to learn about this power, experience it, and, as a result, benefit from it. Most important, engage and harness this power, whether intentionally or unintentionally. Believe that you have it. It is not a false promise but it does involve hope. In this site you can find the resources to help you do so.

I want to help give “hope” to patients, families, and friends dealing with cancer and chronic illness. Furthermore, I want to give hope to YOU. Hope is defined as a feeling or desire for something to happen. We all have things that we want to happen, especially when it comes to our health. Life without hope can be devastating. As a result, I want you to find something here that can make a difference in your life. Feel free to leave feedback.

“The very least you can do in your life is figure out what you hope for. And the most you can do is live inside that hope. Not admire it from a distance but live right in it, under its roof.”
― Barbara Kingsolver, Animal Dreams

Sensitivity and Empathy

Aside from hope and power there is another direction that we need to go in. That direction is being aware of how we treat or interact with those people and families dealing with cancer and chronic illnesses. We knowingly or unknowingly meet them every day. These folks may be afraid and vulnerable. Hence, they require our empathy, not sympathy, and our sensitivity to various situations. We need to be sensitive to what we say and what others say as it can affect a person, significantly. Furthermore, we never know what is going on in another person’s life. Life can change in an instant and there can be collateral effects, both good and bad.

I want you to learn about this power, experience it, and, as a result, benefit from it. You may or may not be spiritual. I have always felt that there is a higher being that we answer to. We sometimes tend to seek a stronger relationship with a more powerful being when tragedy, severe challenges, or illness strikes. Hence, we must decide what we will embrace. Above all, and through it all, we need to remember to “LIVE LIFE”! Whatever that means to you. That is what I hope you will learn from this site.

Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain… To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices – today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it.”
